Membership

Membership in our church is open to all people who profess faith in Jesus Christ and who seek to follow the example of his life, his love and his mission to spread Good News to a world in need.

For those who wish to join our church and have already experienced Christian Baptism, we DO NOT require that you be re-baptized. Opportunity is simply given in worship to publicly reaffirm your faith and to declare your desire to enter into fellowship with our family of faith. Feel free to contact the Pastor if you have any questions.

For those who wish to join our church and have not experienced Christian Baptism, we are especially excited to welcome you into a body of believers that is much larger than any of us may ever understand. Please know that you are welcome here. Regardless of your past, your doubts, your imperfections, your struggles, your triumphs or your trials, you are welcome here.

Becoming a Christian and becoming a member of our church begins with admitting our mistakes to God and asking Him to forgive us and to make us brand new. We then ask Christ to come into our heart and to make us more like Him. It is an exciting journey that takes a lifetime and it begins with this single step of faith.

If you wish to join our church by confession of faith, opportunities are often given during worship immediately following the message. If you know before the service that you wish to join, please let the Pastor know before the service and he will be sure to make the experience as smooth and as meaningful as possible.

After a person joins our church, whether by transfer of membership or by confession of faith, they are encouraged to attend a New Member class offered by the minister every couple of months. This class is a two-hour session conducted on a single evening of the week and new members will be notified of when this is offered. In this class you will learn more about our denomination, more about our church and more about who we are and what we do.

Our evening Disciple Women’s Ministry group invites you to join Bible teacher Beth Moore’s Stepping Up…a journey through the Psalms of Ascent. We will explore Psalms 120 – 134 through small group discussion, DVD, and workbook lessons. We will meet at the church from 6:30 – 8:30 PM on Aug. 9 & 23, Sept. 13 & 27, Oct. 11 & 25, and Nov. 8. Our SIGNATURE Ministry is our free lunch program. Every Wednesday we serve hot dogs, chips and a drink to nearly 1100 students from North Kansas City High School. Of course all ages are welcome. For more info, click here... To date, we have served more than 100,000 hot dogs.

The Northland Assistance Center, located in our building, represents the combined effort of almost 20 Northland churches to extend a helping hand to those in need of financial or food assistance. For more info, click here...
